Mark Ackerman

Mark Ackerman, CARN-AP, MSN, PMHNP-BC, was born in Encino California and raised in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Nevada. He came into the healthcare field later in life after working in gaming and construction in Las Vegas and attending the University of Nevada at night. He has lived and worked with people from all over the world and from all stations in life. His experiences in Las Vegas led him to study nursing and later psychiatry and addictions. He attended UNLV in Las Vegas and the State University of New York at Albany obtaining bachelor of arts degrees in history and political science. Mark earned his undergraduate and masters degree in nursing from Touro University in Henderson, NV.  He earned his post graduate degree in psychiatry and mental health from Rush University, Chicago. He has nearly 2 decades working in mental health and 11 years practicing psychiatry. He is excited to continue this work with 406 Recovery. Mark is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In his spare time he builds fast cars and rides anything on two wheels. Mark is married and has two children and a grandson
